Take Flight Science Workshop for Young Explorers
This is the last chance for the youngest enthusiasts of aviation to experience hands-on fun with science of flight at the Kids Discovery Museum. Join teacher Sarah Evans and discover what makes the mighty machines strong enough to fly. Be an engineer and explore the Take Flight exhibit before it leaves on May 12! Recommended ages: 3-6;

Mexican Market Display and What’s Cooking Summer Camp Preview
Visit the museum between 10 a.m. and 4.pm. to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Explore a special dress-up and imaginary play exhibition featuring Mexican culture and make paper plate maracas. Open this weekend only!
At 11 a.m. join nutritionist Shena Fergusson for a special camp preview. Discover colors of the Food Pyramid and take a sneak peek of what’ll be cooking at KiDiMu this summer! Camp registration available after class.

Bainbridge is all about fun: Girls’ Night Out is taking over downtown…
Kids are taking over the museum!
As the Take Flight exhibit is about to take off from KiDiMu, flight fans (7-10 years old) are invited to celebrate the end of the aviation season.
Join us for lots of fun, pizza and special flight experiments with Richard Pearsall, featuring balloon aerostats, gliders and more!
Mr. Pearsall is a Wilkes Elementary teacher and aviation enthusiast with experience as a Museum of Flight and Pacific Science Center educator and program writer.
Program Details:
4 – 4:30 p.m. Drop-off; Introduction; Supervised exhibit exploration;
4:30 – 5 p.m. – Snack break (pizza and drinks);
5 – 5:45 p.m. – Hands-on experiments with Mr. Pearsall
5:45 – 6:30 p.m. – Supervised exhibit exploration;
6:20 – 6:40 p.m. – Pickup;
Members: $20 & $15 (sibling)

Last Weekend of the GardenTopia and Take Flight Exhibits

Last Day of the Take Flight and GardenTopia Exhibits
Last chance for fans of aviation, as well as garden creature lovers, to explore the Take Flight and GardenTopia exhibits at the Kids Discovery Museum!
Enjoy a dynamic exploration into the creative process of flight. Be an engineer: launch a rocket, shoot out an airplane and watch the roto-copters swirl in the air! Step downstairs to embark upon a bigger-than-life adventure and explore the magical garden from a butterfly’s perspective.

Volunteer Meeting at KiDiMu
All teenagers (14 and up) and adults interested in volunteering are invited to a presentation on current and upcoming opportunities at the museum. Offer includes special events, summer camps, day-to-day operations and more. Short-term and long-term commitments are welcome. It is a chance to make friends, help the kids or earn community service hours!
