Welcome to KiDiMu!

For 20 years, the Kid’s Discovery Museum on Bainbridge Island has been a hub for early childhood development, creating experiences centered on playful learning that supports the broader community and children’s current and emerging needs. We serve Kitsap County families through engaging museum programming, enhanced exhibits, and a safe, nurturing space where children can grow, discover, and be inspired!

We have a vibrant program for preschoolers ages 2.5 – 5.5.

Jim Henson`s Turkey Hollow is rated TV-PG and has a runtime of approximately 1 hour and 28-30 minutes (88-90 minutes). It is a family-friendly comedy and fantasy film that centers on the themes of family, nature, and imagination.

Rating
The film is rated TV-PG for mild content, including some implied sexual innuendo in comedy banter, mild violence/gore, and a few moments of tension that might be too intense for very young children. It is generally considered appropriate for family viewing and children grade 5 and up.

What It`s About
The story follows the recently divorced Ron Emmerson and his two children, Tim and Annie, as they visit the small, technology-free town of Turkey Hollow for a traditional Thanksgiving with their eccentric Aunt Cly. Bored without their phones and internet, the kids decide to investigate the local legend of the "Howling Hoodoo," a mythical monster that lives in the woods.
Their adventure leads them to discover strange, friendly creatures (which are the new puppets designed by the Jim Henson Creature Shop) and a plot by a scheming neighbor to steal Aunt Cly`s prize-winning, hormone-injected turkeys. The children must work with the monsters to solve the mystery and save the day. The film is narrated by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.

Join our innovative and collaborative team as a highly qualified preschool teacher and empower young minds to become lifelong learners. We`re seeking a licensed Early Childhood Educator with Washington state certification to inspire children ages 3.5-5. Our preschool operates Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you`re passionate about cultivating curiosity and creativity in young learners through play, discovery, and exploration, with a focus on STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, please submit your resume and cover letter to our Executive Director, Shea Kennedy, via email- Shea@Kidimu.org
