March 19 @ 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm

On March 19, join Storysong live music, storytelling, singing, dancing, puppetry and impromptu creativity…

The program is designed for ages birth – 5 but all are welcome to attend this special demonstration.
Here is all the fun to expect during a Storysong class:

  • Storysong – opening sing-along song
  • Greeting Name Song
  • Deep listening exercise
  • Circle time – sing songs from the Storysong CD, play percussive instruments, move and dance, sing together, and play games that include imitation and fine and gross motor skills
  • Musical storytelling time – a short “play”- illustrated with music
  • Musical performance referencing the story we just heard – this is a chance for children to be exposed to something more like a live performance.
  • Quiet down with a deep listening exercise
  • Goodbye Song

Instructors, Jenn and Katie, are comrades and friends who share a love of music and storytelling. Banding together in the fall of 2018, they embarked on an adventure that would allow them to share their deep love with others, and Storysong was born. They began writing stories and music when they found each other in college. Jenn has a gift for visual art and makes all kinds of whimsical puppets and props to illustrate their musical storytelling. Katie loves to write lyrics and finding musical ways to display their stories. It felt like the perfect combination and 15 years later they are still exploring creative worlds together!

Besides performing music together, whether with their band around Seattle or for weddings and events across Washington, Jenn and Katie have taught music to children for years in private lessons, classes and Montessori school. They love the unfettered imaginative landscape that children are so willing to traverse. And they love to create the magical worlds to escape into alongside them!

Included with admission or membership. No registration necessary.
