KiDiMu in the Community: Helping at the Helpline House

June 8 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm

On June 8, join us in a day of giving back sorting food at the Food Bank!

PLEASE NOTE: Online registration is now CLOSED. We do have room for a few more last-minute helpers. If you are interested, join us at the Helpline House at 10:25 a.m. OR 12:25 p.m. for same-day check-in.

As a proud member of a vibrant, connected and giving community, KiDiMu is excited to expand the learning opportunities we offer to include volunteer community service projects for families with young children.

Families can sign up for a shift to sort donated goods and tour the food bank. Shifts are in 1.5 h increments (10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.) to allow enough time for volunteer work AND learning about Helpline House BUT we understand the nature of little kids and just want this to be a positive experience for the whole family. If your child gets tired early, feel free to head out before the shift is up.

Helpline House is located at 282 Knechtel Way NE, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110
Look for the KiDiMu balloons out front!

*** PLEASE NOTE: All children must be accompanied by an adult.***

Community service offers children and their families a chance to connect over shared experiences, which helps build empathy, leadership and character. It is also a way to meet individuals and gain experiences they may not have otherwise had.

This is a FREE event.

In addition, we have been collecting toiletry supplies (toothbrush kits/supplies – toothbrush, toothpaste, floss etc.) for Kids’ Pantry. Food and other donations are also accepted but toothbrushes are this year’s main focus. They can be dropped off in the Museum’s lobby through June 7. Thanks for your support!
