KiDiMu in the Community: Beach Cleanup
September 9, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

On September 9, join KiDiMu for a volunteer service learning opportunity for families with young children…
Calling all who love our shorelines and want to help make them healthier for people and wildlife! Join Sustainable Bainbridge, KiDiMu and fellow Islanders to remove trash from our shoreline.
Plenty of sensory fun and fresh air guaranteed while contributing to the community!
This year, KiDiMu families will again be cleaning up the beach at Fort Ward Park.
Microplastics known as “nurdles” are found abundantly in the sand along Fort Ward Beach. They are mixed in with sand, pieces of driftwood, dried plant matter and seashell fragments. Children can help sieve the sand clean of these materials, in addition to cleaning larger trash.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED. Just come to the beach if you’d still like to join us!
Please consider bringing the following item(s) with you:
- gloves
- sieves
- aquarium-type dip nets
- 5-gallon or other buckets
Should you have any questions, please email Judi at judi@kidimu.org or call her at 206.855.4650.
