Big News: More Spaces Available!
The Preschool at KiDiMu is expanding, and we have openings for the 2026-2027 school year! We have AM, PM, and Full Day Options available. Don’t miss the chance to join our vibrant, playful, and inclusive learning community.

Curious Minds Welcome!
Children can join our program beginning at 2.5 years and should be potty-trained! Our multi-age classroom is full of exploration, play, and hands-on learning. We provide kindergarten-readiness curriculum in our program and most children transition from KiDiMu into kindergarten. But you also have school choice and can stay, play and learn with us through age 6 this year (expanding through to age 7 next year).

The Curiosity Lab School

Preschool at Cave Ave is now located at 502 Cave Ave, in the former BICCC building. We offer flexible scheduling options to support your family’s needs:

  • AM Preschool: 8:15 AM–12:00 PM
  • PM Preschool: 12:30 PM–4:15 PM
  • Full Day Preschool: 8:15 AM–4:15 PM
  • Before School Care: 6:30 AM until school start time
  • After School Care: From school dismissal until 6:30 PM

We also offer childcare for children ages 2.5–9 years old on days when your child’s regular school is closed for breaks, holidays, or teacher workdays.

For before and after school care, please check with your child’s school regarding available bus routes. Families are also encouraged to coordinate carpools with classmates, neighbors, friends, and family members when possible.

Small Class, Big Adventures!

Our preschool classes are limited to 20 students with 2 teachers, maintaining a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio. We are currently enrolling children and building a community of curious learners and engaged families.

Our AM, PM, and FULL DAY classes are led by a certified Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher and an assistant teacher, creating a nurturing environment with plenty of individualized attention and room for exploration, creativity, and discovery.

Children enjoy access to multiple unique learning environments, including:

  • A 5,000 sq. ft. play space at 301 Ravine Lane, with weekly field trips to the KiDiMu children’s museum space
  • A 2,500 sq. ft. indoor learning space and 1 acre of outdoor space at 502 Cave Ave (formerly BICCC)

The two locations are just a short walk or carriage ride from one another — about an 8-minute walk apart.

We are proud to be the first STEAM-focused preschool in Kitsap County and the only preschool in partnership with a children’s museum on Bainbridge Island, giving children hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through play-based learning every day.

2026–2027 School Year: The KiDiMu Lab of Learning

Welcome to another year of experiments, equations, and endless curiosity!

Our preschool program is designed to support busy families all year long with full-day care available Monday through Friday. When school breaks and summer arrive, your child can stay on their same familiar schedule and seamlessly roll into our exciting camps—already included in your tuition at no additional cost!

Prefer a summer full of different adventures? Families may also choose to take the summer off and explore the many amazing camps, classes, and island activities Bainbridge has to offer, enrolling only in the camps that fit their family’s plans and interests.

We offer flexible scheduling for every young explorer, including 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week, with half-day, full-day, and extended-day options available year-round—even during camp sessions. Whether your child is building rockets, creating masterpieces, digging in the garden, or making new friends, there’s always another adventure waiting around the corner!

And because island life comes with ferry schedules and unexpected delays, we believe flexibility matters. There are no additional fees for late ferry arrivals—we understand the realities of living on Bainbridge Island and work with families to make things a little less stressful.

The teachers truly nurture curiosity and creativity in a way that feels magical.” — KiDiMu Parent

“We love the flexibility of the program and how supportive the staff are for working families. The extended care options, camps during school breaks, and understanding around delays make such a difference for island life. It feels like a real community.” — Preschool Parent

“Our daughter has absolutely thrived at KiDiMu. The STEAM-focused learning is hands-on, playful, and engaging, and the partnership with the children’s museum creates experiences you simply can’t find anywhere else. Every day feels like an adventure.” — Bainbridge Island Parent

“The teachers create such a warm, welcoming environment. The small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratio helped our child build confidence, independence, and friendships while still feeling supported and seen.” — Preschool Family

“As parents, we were looking for a preschool that balanced academics, creativity, outdoor play, and social-emotional learning—and KiDiMu exceeded every expectation. From engineering and science, to music, art, and nature play, the children are constantly learning through joy.” — KiDiMu Parent
