Get your hands on art fun!

Budding artists will explore different mediums in this creative week: painting on canvas, clay, and making a collaborative mural. They will enjoy messy experimentation and sensory exploration while creating their masterpieces.

For the finale of this creative adventure, campers will tour Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, and have a portfolio of their own to bring home.

Put on your thinking hard hat and experiment with engineering!

Campers will wear many hats when they join the KiDiMu Crew. They will play architects to develop their own idea. Like engineers, they will experiment with different materials to plan and test their design. And just like a real construction crew, they will learn tool safety to build their projects.

Curious explorers will delve into engineering, practice teamwork, and discover how trial and error lead to success!

AUGUST 12 – 15
Favorite books come to life!

Campers will embark upon literary adventures with beloved children’s stories. They will get their wiggles out and problem-solve while “Going on a Bear Hunt.” Inspired by “Tap the Magic Tree,” curious explorers will connect to nature and practice scientific observation with “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” Challenged by “I Aint Gonna Paint No More,” they will try their hand at messy experimentation and sensory exploration.

Book enthusiasts will enjoy imaginative play, songs, games and art projects and create original stories of their own.

KiDiMu crew to the rescue!

Join Our Town’s Fire Department to put out imaginary fires and get ready for real life emergencies. Get tips from the Bainbridge Island Fire Department,* explore a fire truck and learn what to expect if a firefighter had to come to your house. Visit BIPD and learn how the two crews often work together.

From making fire trucks and creating emergency plans to training through obstacle courses and games, campers will get a taste of firefighters’ daily adventures.

Discover nature’s wonders!

Budding scientists will embrace the elements through hands-on fun. They will harness the power of wind to conduct experiments and car races, and make chimes. Curious explorers will investigate the mysteries of fire and sun while making prints and playing with shadows. They will embark on a nature walk and use earth’s treasures to create keepsake art.

Through stories and activities, campers will practice critical thinking and scientific observation and learn a thing or two about teamwork and persistence.
